Want to recreate that wow feeling when you walk into a stunning hotel room in your guest room? We have some top tips on little touches you can add to your spare bedroom to make it so welcoming your guests won’t want to leave.

- Flowers

A fresh bunch of blooms will does wonders for any room – from a single flower to a bouquet, flowers can lighten up a dull corner and are fantastically affordable. At the moment we’re loving peonies that bloom in late Spring/early summer and are a symbol of wealth, luck and happiness.

Luxury touches to your guest bedroom- Dressing gown

A big fluffy dressing gown really adds to the five star feel and will make your guest feel right at home.

- Extra blankets

Even in Spring, there can be a few chilly nights so have plenty of extra blankets on hand for your guests to throw on the bed.

- Plenty of pillows

Some people like one, some have a bed full – let your guest decide by providing a few pillows of differing firmness. Buy the best quality linens you can find – the higher the thread count the better.

- Slippers

A comfortable pair of slippers will help your guest avoid having to walk around on your carpets with their shoes on – win-win for everyone.

- Midnight snacks

A few little nibbles by the bed is a lovely touch – try to find out your guest’s favourites before they arrive.

- Postcards

Even if they haven’t travelled far, sending a postcard makes the whole trip more like a holiday and writing a hand-written letter or postcard home is wonderfully nostalgic. Add a couple of the bedside table complete with stamps.

Treats by the bed- Treats on the pillow

A five star classic. A chocolate on the pillow is the perfect ‘luxury moment’ and if you only add one finishing touch to your room, make it a chocolate on the pillow.

- Their favourite drink

A bottle of water and a cheeky nightcap by the bed is not only thoughtful on your part but fantastically decadent.

- Books

Help your guest nod off with a good book, but instead of a novel add a book of short stories. This avoids your guest starting a great book only to have to leave it at your house.
